My name is H, a former government security officer who worked in 2016–2017 as a security officer for a company contracted to support NATO and U.S. projects.

After the fall of the former government, my husband went into hiding, and our family moved between different locations for safety. Our last place of refuge was in Kapisa Province, where several local families helped us.

A Taliban Badri detachment, reportedly equipped with U.S.-supplied military equipment, came to our village and conducted door-to-door searches for people who had worked with NATO and the United States, particularly Tajik residents. They attempted to take my husband
because of his previous work. During the incident, I was attacked and injured on my hand. My husband resisted, but the Taliban took him away. I escaped with our three children and fled the area.

Since then, I have received no information about my husband's whereabouts or whether he is alive or dead. Some of his friends told me that Taliban members had killed
several Tajik men, which has increased my fear that my husband may have been killed.

Our children continue to suffer emotionally from his disappearance. They frequently ask where their father is and, when they see a man in the street, sometimes mistake him for their father and believe he has returned.

I am currently living in a rented house in Kabul with my children and remain in a vulnerable situation. A U.S. citizen named Leslie Merriman is currently providing me with assistance.
